Here are some tips on keeping scrapbooking affordable.

Shop clearance

Don't over buy-make sure you purchase the items necessary to complete a page. Don't buy just because that sticker is cute. Believe it or not, I have met people along the way that buy items and stage their photos around those items. For example, I once met a customer that loved all these camping stickers, charms and papers. When she came to check out she responded,  "I guess I have to take my family camping now. I have never gone camping before but I couldn't resist these great papers."

Look for Coupons and discount codes to your favorite online stores.

Make your own rub ons. Using your printer and a word document print your saying onto transparency film (using the shiny side), let dry for a few moments and rub with a craft stick. It took me a little practice but it does work.

Purchase expensive tools as a group. Got to have that Sizzix machine or Quikutz? See if a bunch of your scrappin' buddies might want to contribute to the purchase and share the item.

Clipart is a great way to accent your layouts. There are many websites that offer free clipart for your personal use that you can download and print.

Join a Swap Group-someone else's trash may be your treasure! There are many ribbon, paper and sticker swap groups out there.
